silence
The Phenomenon of Silence and Emptiness.
In the end, the most fitting way to express an artistic idea is to cast aside elaborate explanations, subtle interpretations, and the endless commentary upon commentary — and to say nothing at all. Thus, we cultivate an experience in which words can no
longer serve us. We begin with the experience of emptiness.
This is a profound realization: that everything “worldly” — the world as we know it — holds nothing that is ultimately of real interest or lasting value. Just the subjective matter. Because this world is empty, our attention turns toward the Transcendent, the Unconditioned. We immerse ourselves in it and, to our wonder, discover that it too is empty of all that is “worldly”. In the world, there is no genuine individuality or the “I”; yet here, in losing the “I,” we find our truest individuality.
It is the transformative journey of the artist — the search for the self through silence, through the very impossibility of expressing the “I,” along a path illuminated by inner silence.
