The project brings together two creative journeys — two searches. It’s an exploration of the cultures of Tanzania and Zimbabwe.

The trip to Zimbabwe was focused on learning from local artists and absorbing local stories and culture. The artist stayed with a local family — with a painter, an animalist and landscapist, whose life is deeply connected to nature and its rhythms. This experience became essential — an opportunity to observe, to work side by side, to absorb not only knowledge but also the very approach to materials and process. Originality, openness to experimentation, trust in feeling — everything was built on personal exchange, on hand-to-hand transmission of knowledge, through gestures and shared work rather than theory.

The second journey, to Tanzania, several years later, became an experience of observation. By coincidence, the entire country was cut off from the internet — and the usual external noise disappeared. There were no news feeds, no screens, no connection. Everything narrowed down to simple things: nature, conversations, silence.

The trip turned into continuous contemplation and reflection — on presence, on attention, on the line between the inner and the outer. Sketches and drawings created during this time became more than visual notes — they became records of perception, of thoughts and quiet observations.
